Boston Power Surge
The Boston Red Sox dynamic hitting (Lead MLB in hits, runs scored, total bases, runs batted in, batting average, and on-base plus slugging percentage) has guided them to a first place tie with the Baltimore Orioles, in the A.L. East.

Martin Back in the NL.
After being on the Dodgers for 5 years and the Yankees for a year, catcher Russel Martin has bounced right back to the NL, this time a stint with the Pirates. From being a playoff contender to hoping to reach the .500 mark, Russel Martin will try to help Pittsburgh have a winning season since 1992. The Pirates have signed him to a 2 year deal, worth $17M. The Pirates are hoping Martin to play like his 2008 all-star from and most of all, he ring better defensive skills than Rod Barajas. The signing of Martin will help the Pirates.
Speedster coming to D.C.
With an outfield that already features Bryce Harper, Jayson Werth, and Mike Morse, the Nats wanted more by adding Twins speedster Denard Span. Span who is a career .284 hitter, with 90 steals and a .357 OBP is going to help these Nationals. This puts Span at one of the corner outfield positions and bumps Mike Morse to 1B, where free agent Adam LaRoche held last season. The addition of Span will bring a good leadoff hitter for the Nationals.
Braves Send Hanson To L.A.
The Los Angeles Angels have acquired starter Tommy Hanson from the Atlanta Braves for relief pitcher Jordan Walden. Hanson, who posted a 4.48 E.R.A. and a 13-10 record will help sort out this dysfunctional Angels pitching rotation. Last year they added C.J. Wilson who they expected to post numbers like he did in Texas, but he didn't. Dan Haren was alright as he went like a hill last season. Zack Grienke is going to be gone and the Angels pretty much only have Weaver. The addition of Hanson will help this shaky rotation and hopefully he can bounce back from last years 4.48 E.R.A.

Eagles Release Babin
After piling up 18 sacks last year in Philly, defensive end Jason Babin has been released by the Philadelphia Eagles after dissapointing them so far this season with 5.5 sacks. The Eagles are 28th in the NFL in sacks this season and are in need of a pass rusher. Letting there youngsters getting more snaps will help them next season, but they need a pass rusher fast to bring pressure though. The release of Babin could interest other teams on the market as well.
Angels Sign Ryan Madson
After having Tommy John surgery this past season with the Cincinnati Reds, Ryan Madson decided to go elsewhere and signed with the Los Angeles Angels. Madson who's posted a 3.59 E.R.A. when he was in Philly from 2003-2011 was absolutely dominant for there club. The addition of Madson for the Angels will boost there bullpen this upcoming season.

Jays Add Melky
After a one year stint with the San Fransisco Giants, outfielder Melky Cabrera found a new home with the Blue Jays. He signed a two year contract worth $16M. With the addition of Cabrera and the giant trade thats pending with the Miami Marlins, the Blue Jays have turned into a contendor team. This year's Blue Jays offseason so far is like the Miami Marlins offseason, they both added big named targets. The signing of Cabrera is going to impact the Blue Jays and a staked outfield that includes Jose Bautista and Raja Davis.

Cabrera acheived the triple crown, which hadn't been reached since 1967, batted .330, with 44 homers and 139 RBI. He was also the first Detriot Tigers positin player to win the MVP since 1940. Buster Posey was the other chosen to win the other MVP award by batting .336 for the San Fransisco Giants.

Jays, Marlins complete Giant Trade
The Miami Marlins have made a surprising move by trading away all star shortsop Jose Reyes and pitchers Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle. These were a couple of the players the Marlins sent to the Blue Jays. They also sent outfielder Emilo Bonifacio, catcher John Buck to Toronto for shortstop Yunel Escobar, pitcher Justin Nicolin, outfielder Jake Marisnick, catcher Jeff Mathis, and pitcher Anthony DeSclafani. After adding Reyes and Buehrle last offseason, they traded them away, its like hot potato for them. The Blue Jays got the better of this deal and hopefully those 3 key players will help key the Jays success into the playoffs.
Price Wins
In a very close race to win the A.L.Cy Young Award, David Price edged out Justin Verlander to win it all. Price, who lead the league with a 2.56 E.R.A. and also posted a 20-6 record, has won the A.L. Cy Young.
Tigers Add Hunter
The Detriot Tigers have signed free agent outfielder Tori Hunter to a 2 year, $26M deal. At age 37, Hunter showed age didn't matter by batting .313. A carrer .277 AVG and 297 career home runs, Hunter has brought together a great career. With the Tigers adding Hunter, there lineup will become even more dangerous once catcher/DH Victor Martinez is back too.

Melvin, Johnson Coach's Of The Year
Oakland Athletics' Bob Melvin and Washington Nationals Davey Johnson were named the 2012 MLB Coach of the Year award. Melvin had lead the A's to the playoffs for the first time since 2006, while Davey Johnson lead Washington to the best record in the MLB (98-64) and to the playoffs for the first time since they were to Montreal Expos in 1981. Both coaches definitley should of recieved this award to help lead there clubs from barley contenders to season sensation's. Congragulations Melvin and Johnson on winning this award.
Cubs Sign Baker
With the Cubs in need of a starting pitcher, they picked up Scott Baker. Baker who was on the Minnesota Twins this season, has signed with the Chicago Cubs. a second round selection in 2003, Baker had been a memeber of the Twins his whole career, till he signed with the Cubs. He appeared in 23 games in 2011 and none this season because of Tommy John. The addition of Baker will help impact this Cubs rotation.

Harper Wins ROY
After Mike Trout unanimously won the A.L. Rookie of the Year, 19 year old Bryce Harper won the N.L. Rookie of the Year award too. Harper's stats weren't as good as Trout, but they were good enough to win it for the N.L. He batted .277, with 22 homers and 59 RBI, and 18 stolen bases. He helped lead the Nationals to the best record in baseball at 98-64, and lead them to the playoffs for the first time since 1981 too. Like Trout, Harper looks to have a good future in the MLB.
D'Antoni is Back
After coaching the Suns and the Knicks, Mike D'Antoni has another chance to lead a playoff potential team, the Lakers. Following a 1-4 start the Lakers had fired Mike Brown and then turned to D'Antoni for help. So far the Lakers are 2-0 with him, maybe there forget about the terrible start and rush to first place in the West. The hiring of D'Antoni will impact the Lakers.
What a Trout
After having one of the most significant rookie season's we've seen in a while, Angeles outfielder Mike Trout unanimously wins the A.L. rookie of the year award. He beat out division foes Yoenis Cespedes (outfielder for the Oakland A's) and Yu Darvish (starter for the Texas Rangers). Trout batted .326 with 30 homers, and 83 RBI. Most of all he lead the MLB with 129 runs scored and 49 stolen bases. What a season Mike Trout had, and hopefully the phenom can repeat his rookie sensation season.

Lakers Fire Brown
After a horrible 1-4 start, the Lakers have fired coach Mike Brown. Assistant Coach Bernie Bickerstaff will be the interm for the Lakers, for now. Mike tried his best as the Lakers coach, but couldn't get the job done at the beginning of this season. This was one of the quickest firings i've heard in a long time.
Red Sox Sign David Ross
The Boston Red Sox have signed catcher David Ross to a 2 year $6.2M. Ross who batted .256 AVG, 9 homers, and 23 RBI in 62 games for the Braves, will probably back up Jarrod Saltalamachia this upcoming season.

Blue Jays Acquire Esmil Rodgers
After just acquiring Mike Aviles from Boston to finish off the John Farrell deal, the Blue Jays shipped Aviles away to the tribe, along with Yan Gomes for Esmil Rodgers. The addition of Rodgers will help boost a shaky Jays rotation. Rodgers had pitched 53 innings and posted a respectable 3.06 E.R.A. for the tribe this season. On the other hand, the Indians got a nice addition in Mike Aviles. the 31 year old infielder batted .250 while Yan Gomes batted a mere .204 AVG. Both teams got a fair deal in this trade and hopefully all 3 of these players will perform well for there clubs this upcoming season.

Royas Acquire Santana
It's not Johan Santana, but trading for starter Ervin Santana will boost this horrible Royals rotation. The Angeles had already exercised his contract and looking forward to have him next season, but the Royals sweeped him up for minor leaguer Brandon Sisk. Last offseason the Royals had traded outfielder Melky Cabrera for starter Johnathan Sanchez and lost that trade by a long shot with Cabrera batting .346 in San Fransisco and Sanchez posting a horrendous 1-6, 7.76 E.R.A. Maybe Santana won't end up being like Sanchez and rebounds from an off-year performance to become the team's ace.
Marlins Hire Redmond
After firing Ozzie Guillen, the Marlins found another option in Mike Redmond. Redmond had spent the past two years with the Blue Jays Class A team and took his first ever big league job as now the manager of the Marlins. The Marlins were heavily dissapointed this season and hoepfully Redmond can put them back on track to a winnning season.
