what a wild finish

The St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays made strong finishes to clinch the wild card for Al and NL. While the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves had held 9 and 10 game leads in the wild card race, the Rays and Cardinals finished off strong to clinch the wild card's in both leauges. The MLB finished with a major drop in runs scored because of the great pitching teams had. This was the lowest offensive production since Greg Maddux, Curt Schilling and Roger Clemons did great on the mound. This has been a great MLB season and now let's enjoy the playoffs.

Velez sets record

Dodgers infielder Eugenio Velez has set the MLB record with 46 at bats without a hit. This is something you don't want to accomplish. This is a disaster for him and lets hope he won't get to 50.

Too Many stars injured

Their were lots of key players injured in sunday's games. For example, the Rams lost two great offensive weapons in WR Danny Amendola and RB Steven Jackson. Jackson is probably done for this week but might come next week. While Jackson is sidlined for a game or two, Amendola will miss action from 8-10 weeks. The Chargers lost kicker Nate Kaeding for the season as same for Eric Berry of the Chiefs and the Panthers lost LB Jon Beason for season. These injuries will hurt these teams a lot.

Patriots cut Meriweather, Tate

The New England Patriots have cut 2 time pro bowler Brandon Meriweather. This was a very surprising move by the Patriots, but it didnn't matter to them that they cut him. Another cut the Patriots made was WR/KR Brandon Tate. Tate was a great returner but it wasn't enough to be on the Patriots.
