Best of 2010 from the NFL

There were twists and turns during the 2010 NFL season. Here were some unexpecting and amazing performances during the 2010 NFL season. Texans running back Arian Foster was unexpecting after a 230 yard performance out of nowhere against the Colts. Foster who has 1,436 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns through week 16 is doing outstanding. Other surprises were Brandon Llyod who is leading the NFL with 1,375 receiving yards. Llyod was with Denver and didn't play many snaps but then he exploded out of nowhere with huge performances. Another big surprise was QB Michael Vick who came into the league not playing for 4 years in jail, then now is a contender to win MVP, AMAZING! Vick is now at his best running the ball but now throwing to is stepping up in his career. The Kansas City Chiefs were a team that had won only 4 games last season and last in the AFC West, but now they have won 10 games won the AFC West in the 2010 season through week 16 and were very surprising this season. It was led by the number 1 rush offense in the NFL and then a defense that has given up only 295 points. Another team that stepped up was the Chicago Bears. The Bears had won only 7 games last season and Jay Cutler had thrown a league high 26 interceptions but after the addition with Julius Peppers, this defense was a lot better, thanks too it's 3rd rank run defense and allowing the 4th least points per game, this was a very surprising Bears team and nobody was expecting them to win the division either. QB Jay Cutler was most surprising after throwing for a 90.6 passer rating and narrowing down his interceptions to 14. Devin Hester was very electrifying and set the record for the most kickoff and punt return touchdowns by a player. The Rams were also surprising with a rookie QB leading them and a very young team turned into maybe making the playoffs. WR Danny Amendola has 83 catches trough 16 games and that was unexpecting. Disappointments of the year were easily the Cowboys, losing Romo for the season, firing Phillips was tough but Jason Garett turned great leading them to 4 wins. Another disappointment were the 3 win hopeless Bengals. T.O. was great for the season but nothing was great other than that. The Patriots were also sort of surprising because coming in the season they had the youngest deffesne in the NFL but it turned out good with a great preformence from Devin McCourtey with 6 interceptions, upcoming stars in Gary Guyton and others that preformed decent enough to a 13-2 record. Brady has over 30 touchdowns and the Vikings were messed up with only 5 wins. Those were the ups and downs of the 2010 NFL season.

O's Sign Lee

The Orioles have added Derek Lee to there roster and inked him for a one year 10M deal. This will help power the offense for the Orioles who have already guys like Nick Markakis, Brian Roberts, upcoming star Matt Weiters. This signing will help boost lineup for a help in need of a hitter guy like in Derek Lee who has some power left in the tank. This move boosts the Orioles lineup.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

A's sign Hideki Matsui

The A's have added another solid player to there lineup, this time DH/OF Hideki Matsui. The A's have signed Hideki to probably be a DH or an outfielder and Matsui will be his old self hitting home runs. This was a great adition and will make the A's lineup better.

Lee back in Phillie

Cliff Lee was all over the place last season first going to the Mariners at the start of the season, then to the Phillies before the Trade deadline and then with the World Series Champion Rangers. The Phillies have gotten Lee back and signed him to add to one of the best pitching staff, or if the best led by Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt, and then adding Cliff Lee, this pitching staff will be as dominate as it can be. With this addition and the help from everybody else, the Phillies will be probably the best team in the NL, if not the best in the leauge. This addition will help the Phillies to another playoff run and maybe even winning the World Series.

Red Sox sign Bobby Jenks

Bobby Jenks will now be on a new Sox team, this time the Red Sox. They have agreed with Jenks to a 2 year 12M contract. Jenks will provide bullpen help for the Sox and will help the Sox to a division title, which is always tough when you have the Rays and Yankees in the same one. Anyways, this move will help the Sox pitching and maybe even the division.

Round 2 with Wood

Pitcher Kerry Wood will be with the Cubs again, as they signed him to a 1 year 1.5M contract. Wood was solid with the Cubs for most of his career and then with the Indians where he fell a part there. Wood is just like Marmol, he throws lots of strikeouts and was a closer but won't be the closer he will be a RP. This was a great addition for the Cubs and Wood who is coming to Chicago for the 2nd time.

White Sox Sign Jesse Crain

The south siders have agreed to terms with RP Jesse Crain to a 3 year deal. The White Sox were in need for a RP after losing closer Bobby Jenks and RP J.J. Putz to free agency. This will be a nice addition for the White Sox and it will add more depth for RP for the White Sox. Crain who had a 3.04 E.R.A. will help the White Sox to a division title and help the Sox bullpen.

Padres Acquire SS Jason Bartlett

The Padres have added a solid player in Jason Bartlett to add more depth in a lineup that is not known for a hitting team. This was a solid addition however, they will miss the absence of Adrain Gonzalez who was there main piece in there lineup. The Padres had to give up Brandon Gomes, Adam Russell, Cesar Rasmus and Cole Figueroa in order to get SS Jason Bartlett. The Padres needed him because they don't have any offense in there lineup anymore and this will help the Padres to build up at least an okay hitting team.

A's acquire OF Josh Willingham

The A's have just added another OF to help there offense, this time it's Josh Willingham. This was a good addition for the A's who have got already David DeJeus and Hideki Matsui to add power to there lineup. The A's did have to give up Henry Rodriguez and Corey Brown to complete the trade. The A's will do much better on the offensive side of the ball with the addition of Willingham and others.

Brewers acquire Zack Greinke

Are you kidding me, the Brewers have just acquired another pitcher! This was an incredible move for the Brewers to add Greinke. Adding him with Gallardo and Marcum, this will boost the Brew Crew to a division title in the NL Central. The Brewers did have to give up SS Alcides Escobar, OF Lorenzo Cain, SP/RP Jeremy Jeffress, and SP Jake Odorozzi, they did also acquire SS Yuniesky Betancourt in the Greinke trade too. This move will put a position for the Brewers to have improving pitching and then add the offense led by OF Ryan Braun and 1B Prince Fielder, this move will help the Brewers a ton to improve and maybe even win the division too. Red Sox Sign Carl Crawford

The Red Sox have added more fire power to there offense by adding another great hitter Carl Crawford. Crawford who had career highs of 19 homeruns and 90 RBI and over a .300 AVG was solid. This was a great addition and will help the Sox a lot. This will be great for the Red Sox and will help the lineup too.

Cubs sign Carlos Pena

The Chicago Cubs have just added a power hitter to there lineup, Carlos Pena. He had an off year last year with a .196 AVG but still at least hits 25 or more HR each year at least. He's kind of a power hitter but he still is a HR hitter which the Cubs need. This was a good edition but I wish they signed him to 2 or 3 years would be better. Still they needed this addition to help the offense.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Rockies sign Ty Wigginton

The Rockies have just signed Ty Wigginton. This addition will help the the Orioles a lot and with other offensive power with Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki, and now Ty Wigginton, watch out this offense will be dangereous from theses 3 guys producing and if they get back Miguel Olivio and 3B Ian Stewart improving this is a talented team on offense. This was a great signing for this team.

Pirates to sign Kevin Correia

The Pittsburg Pirates have just agreed a 2 year 8 million dollar deal with Kevin Correia. This will be a great addition for a Pirate team that is terrible in this category and he will be the starter probably or it could be Russ Olendorf too. It will be a tight battle between the two. They needed this addition badly and maybe getting another guy good would be great too. this was a great decision.

Orioles acquire Mark Reynolds

Wow, how about this. The Baltimore Orioles have just acquired 3B Mark Reynolds from the Diamondbacks for David Hernandez and Kam Mickolio. This was an okay trade I think but great for the Orioles after losing 3B Ty Winnington from free agency. Reynolds will add a home run threat to this team as he has been hitting at least 30 or more HR the past 3 seasons. That's pretty good and this will help the offense a lot. This move will help the offense more and better. With Markakis, Roberts, Matt Weiters, and others this was the guy they needed.

Brewers acquire Shaun Marcum

The Milwaukee Brewers have just traded for Shaun Marcum! This was amazing for the Brewers because they were in need of a pitcher and Marcum will fit with them as the number 2 starter behind dominate pitcher Yovani Gallardo. The Brewers gave up Cardinals prospect Brett Lawrie for him. This will help the Brewers a lot.

Nationals sign Jayson Werth

The Washington Nationals have just signed OF Jayson Werth to a 9 year contract worth 126 million dollars total. This was a huge addition for the Nationals, especially after losing Adam Dunn to the White Sox. Werth will add fire power to this offense and this move will help a ton, though he won't hit as more HR as Dunn, he is just as good as a hitter as him.

Cardinals sign Lance Berkman

The Cardinals have signed 1B Lance Berkman to a one year deal. Berkman will play in Right Field this year after playing Left Field before. This will help the Cardinals offense more and add more depth to the Outfield position. This was a great move I think.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Angels sign Hisanori Takahashi

The Angels signed pitcher Hisanori Takahashi to a 2 year deal. This trade will help more depth to there bullpen who has already guys like Brian Fuentues and Scott Shields. Hisanori who had a 2.04 ERA last year was very good and efficient for the Mets could help the Angels pitching more. This move will help the bullpen a lot.

Dodgers sign Rod Barajas, Rockies acquire Jose Lopez

The Dodgers have re-signed catcher Rod Barajas to a one year contract. This move will help the Dodgers with there batting because Barajas(21 HR) last season will add depth to this lineup who has already, James Loney, Andre Ethier, added Juan Uribe and Barajas too. Will the help to this addition and a solid lineup, with good pitching this will be a great team overall and maybe a playoff run or even win the division will help the Dodgers have a great season. Also the Rockies have acquired Jose Lopez from the Seattle Mariners. They got Lopez for right hander Chaz Roe who is a former first round pick and a nice arm, will help both teams. Find more information by going on MLB Traderumors.com

Red Sox acquire 1B Adrian Gonzalez

The Red Sox traded for 1B Adrian Gonzalez from the Padres for 4 minor league players. I think this wasn't as fair of a trade but if they are very good minor league players then it would be fair. Gonzalez will help the Sox a ton and maybe lead them to a world series maybe. There already getting back Jacouby Ellsburry from injurey, plus they also have guys in the lineup like David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and I think there also gonna resign Adrian Beltre too and Gonzalez. This will be a great lineup this year and there pitching is good with Lester, Beckett, Papelbon. This move will help the Sox a ton and maybe a run to the world series.

MLB Free Agent Update

There was some moves that helped teams in the past few days in MLB Free agency. Let's go find out what was happening through the past few days. The Reds extended pitcher Bronson Arroyo through the year 2013. This will help the staff through that time because he will be very important for them. Also the big news was that the White Sox got OF/1B Adam Dunn. I think that Dunn will probably play Dh for the Sox, who were in need for one too got the perfect guy, Adam Dunn. He's got great raw power and hits at least 38-40 homeruns a year. This was a great move and will help the team a lot.

Gore out for season

49ers RB Frank Gore will be out for season and hopefully will return in the 2011 NFL season. This will be a huge loss for the Niners and for fantasy owners who have him too. Gore was doing very great during his first 11 games and a some of the MNF game too. Gore was having another great season but then he is now out for season. He was rushing for about 760 yards with 4 touchdowns and 36 catches for 333 yards. Like I said this is a huge loss for San Fransisco.

Cardinals acquire SS Ryan Theriot, Dodgers sign SS Juan Uribe

The St. Louis Cardinals acquired SS Ryan Theriot from the Los Angeles Dodgers for pitcher Blake Hawksworth. I think that this trade will help the Cardinals more than the Dodgers because Theriot is better than Hawksworth but I guess it is a least an okay trade. Also the Dodgers signed SS Juan Uribe and this addition to the team will add depth and some power becuse Uribe who hit about 25 homerun's a year ago was great for the Giants who won the world series. This addition and the trade will help the Dodgers and hopefully they can do better than what they did last year a little at least.

Gowstowski out for season

Patriots kicker Stephen Gowstowski is out for season and this will hurt the Patriots a lot. He is a very good kicker but they have another one and it won't affect as bad for this position on the team.

Portis done for season

Redskins RB Clinton Portis is out for season and this will affect the Redskins a lot because there very banged up and Donovan McNabb isn't himself anymore. The Redskins still do have two good RB in them with RB Keiland Williams and Ryan Torain. Let's what the Skins can do now.

Tigers sign Victor Martinez

The Detroit Tigers signed catcher Victor Martinez to a 4 year, $50 million deal. Martinez will at least 12.5 million per year and will add more depth to a lineup that already has 1B Miguel Cabrera, OF Austin Jackson and OF Brennan Bosch. Martinez who had a hitting line of .302/20/79 had a good season and will help Detroit even more but still needs to work on defense and then he will be a beast.

Childress fired

Vikings coach Brad Childress got fired after the Vikings lost to the Packers 31-3. This was expecting because nobody would think the Vikings would be 3-7 in there first 10 games. The Vikings have tons of problems and they fired Childress because of this terrible start and Favre is not Favre anymore.

Votto, Hamilton win MVP

Joey Votto was named the NL MVP and led the Reds to the playoffs for the first time since 1995. Votto who had a hitting line of a .326 AVG, 37 HR and 113 RBI beat out Albert Pujols to win the award. I was thinking that Carlos Gonzalez would win the award instead of Votto but Votto had a great year. While Votto won the NL MVP OF Josh Hamilton won the AL MVP. Hamilton also lead the Rangrs to the playoffs since in the 1990's. Hamilton had a hitting line of .359/32/100 and he had a very good year to help the Rangers make the playoffs. I think that Caberea should of won the award but Hamilton was great too. This was a great MLB season and I hope it's better next season.

Young benched

Titans QB Vince Young will be benched for maybe at least this season and they really need him. Young ran out of the locker room and put his street clothes on and left. Michael Griffen tried to chase him down and bring him back to the locker room but he couldn't. Fisher did not like Young's behavior, therfore Fisher said that Young will not be the starting QB.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Yankees get Cubs pitching coach

In a big surprise, the yankees got the Cubs pitching coach. This will help the Yankees a ton because this staff will be even more dominet because the Cubs had such a good pitching staff and they could develop players like Phil Hughes and A.J Burnett better. This was a very unexpecting but good move that could help the Yankee pitchers. I hope the Cubs get another good pitching coach again because they usually have good pitching.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Felix named AL Cy Young

Mariners Felix Hernandez won the AL Cy Young as he won only 13 games but had a league best 2.27 ERA and had 232 strikeouts as he beat out Sabathia and Price to win the award.

Ron Gardenhire of the Twins won AL manager of the year and Bud Black of the Padres won NL manager of the year. Padres did huge during the season and Black deserved it but no dout about it that Gardenhire would win it.

Halladay named NL Cy Young

Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay won the NL Cy Young award as he is the 5th pitcher to win the Cy Young in both leagues. Halladay went 21-10 with a 2.44 ERA and had 219 strikeouts along with 4 shutouts and 9 complete games. Halladay deserved to win the NL Cy young.

Braves acquire Dan Uggla

The Braves acquired 2B Dan Uggla from the Marlins for 2B Omar Infante amd pitcher Mike Dunn. This will add power to the lineup for the Braves. They don't really have a power hitter. Uggla might be first player on the Braves to hit over 30 HR since Chipper Jones and Andrew Jones were on the team. This helps both teams though the Marlins wil lose there power hitter.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Royals acquire Mazzaro

The Royals acquired pitcher Vin Mazzaro from the Oakland A's for OF David DeJesus. This will help both teams because the Royals needed pitching and the A's needed batting and this was a good trade for both teams.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

THe Miami Dolphins signed CB Al Harris after being released by the Packers. The Dolphins released CB Jason Allen to pick up Harris, which I think they should of let go somebody else because Allen was doing decent.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Packers release Harris, Parrish out for season

The Green Bay Packers released CB AL Harris. Harris has been very great in Green Bay and who will pick him up? Also the Bills WR Roschoe Parrish is out for season after he was injured sunday against the Bears. Parrish was leading the AFC in Punt returns.

Phillips fired

Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips got fired following a 45-7 lost to the Packers. This was not a surprise as the Cowboys are only 1-7 right now. The Cowboys have big issues and need to fix them fast.

Giants win Series

The San Fransisco Giants win the 2010 world series as they beat the Texas Rangers 4-1 and win it for the first time since 1954, when they were they New York Giants! This was a great run for the Giants to win the biggest game in the MLB, the world series and this was just a dominant performance by the pitching of the Gaints.

Monday, November 1, 2010

Moss waived

WR Randy Moss got waived form the Minnesota Vikings and will now be a free agent. He was released because of his actions and says he wants to go back to the Patriots and said that they had a great orginization, so let's see who Moss will get picked up by.

Hall ties record

CB Deangalo Hall tied an NFL record by intercepting 4 Jay Cutler passes and returned 1 for a score. Hall now leads the NFL with 5 interceptions so far this year. No NFL defensive player has had 4 interceptions since Deltha O'Neal did it in 2001.

Giants Win!

The San Fransisco Giants are going to the world series for the first time since 2002. This was a big upset as the Giants beat the Phillies to advance to the world series to play the Texas Rangers. This was huge for the Giants and hopefully this will be a good world series to watch.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Colts lose Clark for season

For fantasy owners if you have TE Dallas Claek he is out for the rest of the season. This will also hurt the Colts a ton on the passing game because Clark is a key weapon on this football team.

Rangers advance

The Texas Rangers are going to the world series for the first time in franchise history! This was unbelievable that the Rangers beat the New York Yankees to advance to their first world series. Every Rangers fan was waiting for this and now here it is, going to the world series. What a playoff stretch to make it to the big game, first beating the Rays, now New York, this was just a great playoff run by the Texas
Rangers.

Friday, October 8, 2010

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Moss back to Minnesota

The Vikings traded for WR Randy Moss for a 2011 3rd round pick and 2012 7th round pick. Moss will now be back on the Vikings again after being traded from them to the Raiders after the 2004 season. This will help the Vikings very much and hopefully Moss will help the Vikings who were in need in a WR. This will also help Brett Favre too. Moss was also a pro bowler in Minnesota too and will have a big impact on this team, but once Rice comes back this will be a very good passing attack.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Lynch to Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks traded for RB Marshawn Lynch for a 2011 4th round pick and a 2012 conditional pick. This will help the Seahawks at the RB position. They had to cut Julius Jones to make room for Lynch.

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Maroney to the Broncos

The Denver Broncos traded for RB Laurence Maroney for an undisclosed draft pick. This will make the Broncos a better running team who already have Knowshon Moreno and Justin Fargas as this will be a good 1-2-3 punch, and hopefully will do better at the running game. While the Patriots losdt another key player. Now Fred Taylor will start for NE now.

Torre stepping down

Joe Torre will retire after the 2010 season. Don Mattingly a former Yankee will be the manager in 2011 for the Dodgers who are 72-75 and are falling from being in the division race. Torre who has a 2,318-1,990 career record as manager in the regular season, has won 4 world series and has 6 pennants and 13 division titles. This will be interesting for the Dodgers next season.

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Grant, Jenkins done for season

Green Bay Packers RB Ryan Grant is out for season. This will hurt the Packers a ton for the running game and it looks like this is gonna be a passing offense now after running it good last year. Grant who ran over 1,220 yards last season is now out for the year. Jets DT Kris Jenkins is also done for the year as he was injured in the first quarter v.s the Ravens. This will also hurt the Jets deffense a lot and it's same thing as last year, Jenkins out for season.

Saturday, September 11, 2010

Revies signs record deal

The Jets signed CB Darrele Revies to a record contract as he was paid as the highest paid defensive player ever. This was good for the Jets since they signed him and he is ready to go v.s the ravens. Revies I think will be defensive player of the year this year and I think he will help the Jets make it to the super bowl and be the best defensive team in the league.

Santana needs surgery

Mets pitcher Johan Santana will have to be out for the remainder of the season. Santana who is the Mets best pitcher will hurt this team after being injured as I don't think the Mets won't get any further than this.

Saints V.S. Vikings

The Saints beat the Vikings 14-9 in a low scoring affair between these two great offenses. Drew Brees hit Devery Henderson on a 29 yard touchdown catch for the first touchdown of 2010. Brees threw a touchdown and a interception and threw for 223 yards as the Saints stopped Vikings late. While Brett Farve didn't do much better throwing for 171 yards, a touchdown, and a pick. This was a very exciting game as now the 2010 season finally begins.

Monday, September 6, 2010

Ravens sign Houshmandzadeh

The Baltimore Ravens just signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh to a one year 855,000 deal. This will put more depth for the Ravens at the WR position. They already have Boldin and Derrick Mason, now adding T.J.,the Ravens passing attack is going to be great this season. However, the Ravens did trade Mark Clayton to the Rams to make room T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

Friday, September 3, 2010

Crayton to Chargers

WR Patrick Crayton got traded from the Dallas Cowboys for to the San Diego Chargers for a 7th round draft pick. Crayton was very unhappy in Dallas and if the Chargers don't re-sign WR Vincent Jackson then he will hold out for about 10 games. I think the Chargers should just give Jackson the money if they have enough. This trade will help the WR on the Chargers and if they don't sign him then it was a good trade to get Crayton.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Rangers acquire Jeff Francoeur

The Rangers acquired OF Jeff Francoeur for Joaquin Arias. Francouer was just no use in New York as he was not stepping up and while the Rangers needed a right handed hitter so it was a perfect trade for both teams as I think the Rangers just added more depth to the hitting and OF.

Tuesday, August 31, 2010

Bodden out for season

Patriots CB Leigh Bodden is out for season which is terrible for them as that was a huge diffensive key for them. In my opinion I think that fantasy owners who own the Patriots deffense drop them there not as great now. Bodden also was the Patriots pro bowl CB last year.

Manny joins White Sox

The White Sox claimed OF Manny Ramirez off the Dodgers waivers. This is a great move since the White Sox have been struggling at the DH position this season. Manny who is batting .311 with 8 HR and 40 RBI in 66 games and 196 at bats. This move will just make the Sox lineup better and now that Manny who will be playing the DH spot now and I think he will produce.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Twins aquire Brian Fuentes

The Twins acquired closer Brian Fuentes from the Angels for a player to be named later. This will add more depth to the Twins roster for pitching and now Fuentes will be doing set up duties now.

Monday, August 23, 2010

Red Sox claim Damon

The Boston Red Sox claimed former OF Johnny Damon from the Detroit Tigers. The Red Sox made a great move to claim Damon off waivers after Jacouby Ellsbury and Mike Cameron are injured. The Red Sox will try to make a run to the playoffs and world sereis after they picked up Damon. He might go to the Red Sox or stay with Detroit, but reporters say now that he is now back in Detriot.

Piniella retires

Manager Lou Piniella retired after the a 16-5 loss to the Braves. Lou won 1,835 games in his manager career, in 18 years as a major leauge player Piniella hit .291 as a career average. Piniella also won NL Rookie of the year award and won the 1990 world sereis with the Reds. Lou enjoyed a great time as a cub manager as we say good bye Lou and for right now hello Mike Quade for the rest of the season.

Thursday, August 19, 2010

He's Back

QB Brett Farve yet came again and returns to the Vikings as there QB as this will be his last year. He will do good again and I was expecting this and so was everybody else was too and welcome back Brett, fortunately I'm a Bears fan so go Bears and were ready for you Brett.

Cubs send Lee to Atlanta

The Chicago Cubs traded 1B Derek Lee to the Atlanta Braves for 3 minor league pitchers. This was as expected to trade him to some team and they got him to the Braves. I think this was a good move for the Cubs and hopefully they have a big off season next year. Lee will be part of a infield group that includes 2B Martin Pardo and Troy Glaus, now him this is pretty good. The reason he left was because he wanted to win.

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Nationals sign Harper

The Washington Nationals finally signed catcher Bryce Harper to a 5 year 9.9M contract. This was expected as they did it at the last second to sign him. This move is great and he will be a great catcher. This move helps the Nationals with move depth since Ivan Rodriguez is 38. Get more news from ESPN.com

Monday, August 16, 2010

Ginats aquire Jose Guillen

The Giants added more fire power to there offense as they acquired OF Jose Guillen from the Royals for a player to be named later and cash. This move will put the Giants in better positions for the offense and catching up to the Padres. This move is great as the Ginats already have hitters like Aubrey Huff, Buster Posey, Sandoval and Juan Uribe.

Monday, August 9, 2010

Finally Here

The first NFL game finally came through yesterday as the Cowboys defeated The Cincinnati Beangals 16-7. The Cowboys came big on deffense by scoring the first TD of the 2010 preseason. The deffense was very big on this one as it was a goood game to watch for the two teams to fight to the finish.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

2010 MLB Trade Deadline

How about the finish to the 2010 MLB Trade Deadline. There were so many moves to turn into key additions for some and major help and big improvements for teams. The Texas Rangers who are going to position themselves into a big playoff run acquiring Cliff Lee and Bengie Molina already they added more and picked up SS Cristian Guzman and 3B Jorge Cantu. These moves just made the Rangers a better built team and good for a playoff run too. Also the defending World Series Yankees acquired 1B Lance Berkman, OF Austin Kearns and pitcher Kerry Wood. This will also put the Yankees in a position where they could go to the World Series again and help them make a better team too. The Rays responded to by getting pitcher Chad Qualls from the Diamondbacks and this will make there pitching even deeper and better and the Red Sox acquired catcher Jarrod Salatalamacchia from the Rangers as they will probably put Martinez at 1B and Jarrod at catcher position and make them a better team. The White Sox pitching just got better as they traded for Edwin Jackson, a guy who could help the White Sox stay in 1st place and hopefully make a playoff run too. The Twins added Matt Capps to there improved pitching staff and a bullpen who already has Jon Rauch. The Braves acquired OF Rick Ankiel and Kyle Farnsworth to boost up more depth for there team and the Phillies made a great move getting pitcher Roy Oswalt as the Phillies who already have a rotation in with Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay just add in another great arm as this will boost there pitching staff a ton and make a run for 1st place. The Cardinals boosted there pitching staff more by acquiring Jake Westbrook as the add a rotation who already has Jamie Garcia,Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter and will boost the Cardinals too win the division and maybe even a run for the world series. The Padres boosted up there batting by adding Miguel Tejada and Ryan Ludwick to there roster as they could make a run in the playoffs and maybe a berth as NL champions. This was a very great and fun trade deadline and also the cubs aquired in Blake DeWitt and the Dodgers added more to there pitching staff with Ted Lilly and added Ryan Theriot form the Cubs as they could catch up in the west to the Padres.

Orioles hire Showalter

The Baltimore Orioles hired Buck Showalter as there manager. This will be a new rebuilding system for the Orioles as they hope to get better and better by the end of the season. Showalter is a great choice for the Orioles and they will do better when the season ends and it will be a big improvement coming into this and next season for the Orioles.

Oswalt done deal

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired pitcher Roy Oswalt from the Houston Astros for pitcher J.A. Happ and 2 other prospect. This was as expected for the Phillies to acquire the vertan lefty as this deal will help keep the Phillies to be in the race of the NL East. This will help the Phillies pitching staff, who already have Roy Halladay in it and hopefully there offense can put some big numbers now and defiantly when they get back 2B Chase Utley as you can see this was the big move for the Phillies to get him.

Peralta to Tigers

The Cleveland Indians traded 3B Johnny Peralta to the Tigers for minor league pitcher Giovanni Soto. This move will put Peralta to the starting 3B position for the Tigers. This will put more offensive power for this lineup after losing Magglio Ordonez to an injury. This move will help the Tigers be in the very close race of the AL Central.

Podsednik to Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded top catcher prospect Lucas May and minor league pitcher Elisual Pimentel to the Kansas City Royals. This is going to add even more depth to this great outfield of the Dodgers had. This was a great deal for the Dodgers who needed another OF to be in for Manny Ramirez. This will help the Dodgers offense more on base stealing and getting on base for the Dodgers. This key additon will help the Dodgers get back in the race of the NL West.

Garza throws NO-NO

Matt Garza threw the Rays first ever no hitter in franchise history as the Rays went and beat the Tigers 5-0. This was a great moment for the Rays to get a no hitter after being no hit 3 times in the past 2 years. I think this was unexpecting to happen and this game helped Garza lower his ERA down a lot now and this was already the 5th no-no this year!

T.O. to Beangals

The Cincinnati Beangals signed WR Terrel Owens to a 1 year 2M dollar contract. This is going to be interesting with Ocho and now T.O. I think the Beangals will miss the playoffs because now that the two of them are 30 and older it is easier to cover them. I think this will be a pretty good WR Duo and T.O. is expected to have a better season with the Beangals since the Bills had a terrible QB case on there roster, the Beangals have a much passing offense with Palmer at QB and the offense will be at it's best again for this upcoming season.

Haren back in California

Is the best move for the Angels? Do they need another great pitcher on there roster? Yes it could be because this move is going to add more pitching depth to there roster. They have Weaver,Santana and now here comes the best guy that was on the market, Dan Haren. I think this will help the Angels pitching staff more and maybe a chance to make the playoffs if they keep up with Josh Hamilton and the Rangers. This is a great move for the Angels even though they need big hiiting help right now, remeber they did get Alberto Callaspo form the Royals. This move will help the Angels to try to make a run for the AL West Divison Title.

Bulluck to Giants

Former Tennessee Titans LB Keith Bulluck was signed to a one year deal to the New York Giants. This was a great signing for the Giants since they lost LB's Danny Clark and Antonio Pierce. The Giants will have a better defense then last years 407 points allowed and this is a great addition for the Ginats cause they needed LB help and got depth from former pro bowler Bulluck.

Johnson hits for cycle, Callaspo to Angles?

How about this, Kelly Johnson just hit for a cycle as he went 4 for 4. It was the 3rd cycle of they year. I think this was great for Johnson who was struggling lately and I think this was a big opportunity for him in the loss to the Giants. Also the Kansas City Royals dealt 2B Alberto Callaspo to the Angles for right hander Sean O'Sullivan and minor leauge left hander Will Smith. This was a good trade since the Royals need pitching help now that Zack Greinke is now on the trade block and the Angels need a little more offense ever since Kendrey Moralas is out for season.

Piniella's last year

Cubs Manager Lou Piniella who is the 4th winningest manager active in MLB history. He said 2010 is his last season. Ryan Sandburg, a former Cub could be the interm manager for the Cubs as he has experienced 4 years in the minors. I think this will be a very good fit for the Cubs and he said that he was ready to go for the job next season. Another manager Fredi Gonzalez will be interviewed by the Cubs and will fight for the spot for the Cubs manger next season. These guys are solid but I was thinking the Cubs might have a shot at Joe Girardi I hope, if he stays with the Yankees too.

LeBron to Miami, Spain wins World Cup

LeBron James made his decision and he will go to Miami. Cleavland traded him for 2 future 1st and 2ND round picks. James will join Wade and Bosch in Miami. They actually planed to do this so they could end up on the same team. I think this team will one of the most dominate team in the league and maybe even make the NBA Finals but need to get guys to step up. Also Spain one there first ever world cup against the Netherlands. The Chicago Bulls signed forward Carlos Boozer to a five year deal worth 80M. I think this will be a great addition for the Bulls and will help there team a lot more. The New York Knicks traded forward David Lee to the Golden State Warriors for forward Anthony Randolph. Also forward Joe Johnson re-signed with the Atlanta Hawks for a 6 year deal and the Celticts re-signed players Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. The Bulls traded Kirk Hinrich to the Washington Wizards and draft pick for draft pick and cash. Also the Suns re-signed forward Channing Fry and Orlando signed guard Chris Duhon to a 4 year deal. Jake Peavy on the White Sox is out for season with an injury. This will be a very tough loss for the White Sox too. Also pitcher Cliff Lee got traded to the Texas Rangers for 1B Justin Smoak and prospects. I think this is a great trade since the Mariners need offense and Rangers need pitching. I think in my opinion now that the Rangers will win the division for good.

Nowitzki stays with Mavs, Bly back in Detriot

The Mavs and Dirk Nowitzki agreed to a 80 million deal. Also CB Dre' Bly is back with the Detroit Lions. He signed a 2 year deal and was a pro bowl conerback with Detroit after the 03 and 04 seasons. This will help the Detroit secondary a lot more with this addition, remember they lost CB's Anthony Henry and Philip Buchanan to free agency this offseason.

The Seattle Mariners traded for 1B Russell Branyan for some prospects as he is now back on the team once again since last year. I thought this was an interesting move but the Mariners need a 1B. Orioles manager fired

The Orioles are going to fire manager David Trembely and if he is fired then the 3B coach Juan Samuel would be the interm coach for the Orioles and I think this would be a good move I think and a fact that the Orioles are in last place and worst record in MLB that they would need a new manager soon and the Lakers and the Celtics are going to play at 9:00 eastern time as it will be game 1 in LA.

The Browns traded CB Sheldon Brown who had 6 interceptions last season and LB Chris Goncong for Alex Hall and draft picks.

NFL News March 14th-20th

The Browns traded QB Brady Quinn to the Broncos for Peyton Hillis and two draft picks. This will help provide depth for the Broncos at QB after releasing Chris Simms; Quinn will be the backup to Orton. Brady who had 1339 passing yards and 8 touchdown passes with only a 67.9 QB rating was horrible. Still this is a nice addition. The 49ers traded QB Shaun Hill to the Lions for a draft pick. Hill who had 943 passing yards and 5 touchdown passes and had a 79.6 QB rating would be a solid starter or backup for the hopeless Lions. The Chiefs signed guard Ryan Lilja to a 3 year contract. Lilja who was on the Colts last year would be a solid guard for the Chiefs. The Steelers signed LB Larry Foote to a 3 year contract. Foote who was with the Lions last year will probably be a starter for the Steelers. Big news for the Eagles; they released RG/RT Shawn Andrews. The former pro bowler got released after being banged up the last few years. The Bears also released CB Nate Vasher. Vasher who went to the pro bowl in 2005-06 season was released after being a bust after 2007. Also the Cardinals signed ex Brown, Derek Anderson. Anderson who did very poorly last year will be competing with Matt Leinart for starting QB. The Eagles traded DE Darryl Tapp for DE Chris Clemons of the Eagles and a 4th round pick. Tapp will now be backing up Trent Cole at RE for now. The Eagles also signed RB Mike Bell. Bell who ran for 671 yards as the Saints 3rd string RB was pretty impressive along with his 6 rushing td's. The Patriots signed former Titans and Falcons player, Alge Crumpler. Crumpler had 27 catches for 222 yards and only 1 touchdown grab. After releasing Watson, he probably will be the starter.

NFL News

Let's look at the top free agent signings and trades this off-season so far. To top off free agency on Friday, the Chicago Bears signed Running Back Chester Taylor and Defensive End Julius Peppers. The Bears got Juluis Peppers after a horrible defensive effort. Peppers had 10.5 sacks last year which was 10th in the NFL. Bears got Taylor to help out Matt Forte with the running game. Taylor did have 5 total touchdowns and 700 yards from scrimmage last season. The Detroit Lions signed free agents WR Nate Burelson and Defensive End Kyle Vanden Bosch. Vanden Bosch who had only 4.5 sacks last year could break out for the Detroit Lions 32nd ranked defense. The Ravens made a huge trade for Anquan Boldin. The Ravens traded their 3rd and 4th rounders to the Arizona Cardinals and in return got Boldin and also a 2010 5th round draft pick. Boldin who had 84 catches for 1,024 yards and 4 touchdown grabs will help the Ravens a ton. Antrel Rolle of the Cardinals signed a five year $37 million contract with the New York Giants. Rolle who had 4 interceptions last year with the Cardinals will improve the Giants defense. The safety would help out the Giants after they allowed 427 points last season. The Miami Dolphins agreed with LOLB Karlos Dansby on a big contract for 5 years. Dansby who had 109 total tackles with 1 interception and 1 sack wasn't as big as statistict wise but would help out the Dolphins defense good enough. Miami needed Dansby after allowing Joey Porter, Akin Aydole, and Gibril Wilson on the loose. Other signings were the Atlanta Falcons inked CB Dunta Robinson on a 6 year deal. Even though Robinson didn't have a pick last season it still will be the Falcons #1 cornerback. Antonio Cromartie got traded to the New York Jets for an undisclosed draft pick. Getting Cromartie will be the best CB tandom in the NFL. Cromartie did have 3 picks last season. The Seattle Seahawks plan to meet with Brandon Marshall today. Marshall had 101 catches for 1,120 yards receiving yards and 10 touchdown catches. The Carolina Panthers released Jake Delhomme, which was a very surprising move. Delhomme only threw for 2,015 yards passing and only 8 touchdowns but 18 interceptions. Only played 11 games because of an injury. The Bengals are interested in Terrel Owens. This would be a great move since Cincinnati released Coles. T.o. who had 55 catches for 829 yards and 5 touchdown grabs. Vikings coach Childress visits Favre, says he'll wait on QB. The Vikings should at least keep Brett Farve for one more season at least or there's nobody else for a solid QB. The Bears, the Dolphins, the Saints, and the Giants. The Jaguars got DE Aaron Kampon toaday. Even though Kampon had only 3.5 sacks last season he probably will get a 9 to 10 sack season if stays heathy. THe Browns also got LB Scott Fujita. According to the leauge source Fujita sighned on a 2 year contract. Also the Texans are meeting with CB Leigh Bodden. I think there probably get him and would be a huge key on the defense. The Cardianls also made a huge trade for Kerry Rhodes. This willl be a great deal for the Cardianls who did release Antrel Rolle earlier in the free agency period. The Browns trade for QB Seneca Wallace for a Browns draft pick. I thought this would be a great move after the Browns released Derek Anderson. The Jets sighned RB Thomas Jones. Jones, who had a carrer best 1,402 rushing yards and 14 total td's would help the Cheifs. I thought the Jets would re sign him because the Cheifs already had Charals, who had 1,167 rush yards last season. The Eagles signed CB Marlin Jackson to a 2 year contract. According on NFL.com the Eagles migh move Jackson to saftey. THe Beangals signed Wr Antonio Bryant to a one year deal. They got Bryant cause they released Laverneaus Coles. Bryant who caught 39 passes for 600 yards and 4 touchdowns would help the Beangals. THe Broncos signed DL Jamal Williams and Jarvis Green to 3 and 4 year contracts. THese 2 moves were pretty big because the Broncos stumbled to 8-8 after going 6-0 and the reason that happened is that there DL did horrible the rest of the year. Also the Tennesse Titans signed LB Will Witherspoon to a 3 year contract. The Titans made this move because they lost LB Keith Bulluck to free agency. THe Ravens re-signed WR Derrick Mason to a 2 year contract. Mason who had 80 catches for 1,024 yards and 7 touchdowns would help more depth with the Ravens recivers. THe Raiders released DT Gearld Warren. Warren did not do much for the DL that much. JAke Delhome was going to meet with the Browns and Saints toaday after the Panthers released him. I would think Clevland would be more interested because it would help depth for the Browns at QB. L.T. didn't really want to be the Vikings 3rd down Rb, so he will meet with the Jets maybe. Jets need him more because they released a big RB name Thomas Jones, who signed with the Cheifs. THe Browns just added TE Benjaman Watson. Watson who caught 29 passes for 404 yards and 5 receving touchdowns. Watson would probably be the reciver on the Browns because they don't have a real productive WR. The Cardinals look at LB's Joey Porter and Larry Foote. These guys would be big if they Cardinals get them after releasing Karols Dansby. You can get more NFL News on NFL.com.
