Tigers sign Fielder

THe Tigers have signed a huge deal with first baseman Prince Fielder on a 9 year $214M contract. Adding Fielder will make the Tigers have 3 of the MLB's top 10-15 players: Miguel Cabrera, Justin Verlander, and Prince Fielder. With the addition of Fielder the Tigers now have the best 3-4 hitters in Cabrera and Fielder. The Tigers might be the team to beat this season as they feature a powerful offense with Victor Martinez, Miguel Cabrera, and Prince Fielder. Prince is going to help the Tigers dominate this up-coming MLB season.

Ravens D does job against Texans, Giants stun Packers

The Ravens played football like the always had, win ugly by defense. As they did that against the Texans winning 20-13. Baltimore picked off Texans rookie QB T.J. Yates 3 times and didn't commit a penalty as Baltimore brought the Texans home. The Ravens will go head to head with the Patriots high powered offense.

Eli Manning and the Giants once again stunned another great Packers QB, and the Packers at Lambeau Field. Dropping passes was the diffrence in this game for Green Bay as New York stormed past the Pack 37-20. Eli Manning was just too much for Green Bay. The Giants will face off with the 49ers and their stingy defense next sunday.

Niners Edge Saints, Brady, Patriots too much for Broncos

With 9 seconds left Alex Smith hit Vernon Davis for the game winning touchdown to end the Saints hopes in the playoffs. What a wild finish for this game. The 49ers became the first team in NFL history to score 2 lead changing touchdowns in final 3 minutes. First time playoff quarterback Alex Smith had a moment of his own during this game by throwing the game winning touchdown pass to Vernon Davis with 9 seconds left. Before that though Saints QB Drew Brees threw a 66 yard TD pass to TE Jimmy Graham to put New Orleans up 32-29. The 49ers deffense stepped up huge in this one forcing 5 turnovers that led to 5 TD. Although the Niners won, Saints RB Darren Sproles did catch a postseason record 15 passes. What a game this has been and for the Niners good luck against the G-Men.

Tom Brady tied a playoff record 6 TD passes as the Patriots smoked Denver to a 45-10 victory. Even the Patriots deffense came up huge in this game against Tebow mania. Coming in this game, the Patriots were one of the worst deffenses in all of football, but today they played like the best. Rob Gronkowski also tied a playoff record with 3 TD receptions in the win.

Yankees upgrade roatation

By acquiring Mariners Michael Pineda and signing free agent Hiroki Kuroda, the Yankees have boosted there rotation that features C.C. Sabathia and Ivan Nova. The Yankees sent top prospect Jesus Montero and right handed pitcher Hector Noesi to complete the Michael Pineda trade. The Yankees also got righty Jose Campus who was included in the blockbuster deal between the Yankees and Mariners. Pineda who finished with a 3.74 E.R.A. last season as a rookie, will help the Yankees feature one of the best roatations in all of baseball. Adding Kuroda also will just make the Yankees pitching better. Even though Kuroda only had a record of 13-16, he had an outstanding E.R.A. of 3.07. Adding both Pineda and Kuroda were two great additions for the Yankees to rebuild there shacky roation from the rotation. The rotation will most likley be this: Sabathia, Pineda, Kuroda, Nova, then either Burnett or Garcia or Phil Hughes. The Yankees will have one of the top 5 rotations this season after adding two great players in Pineda and Kuroda.

Cubs sign Maholm

After trading Carlos Zambrano to the Marlins for Chris Volstad, the Cubs made there rotation better by signing Paul Maholm. The Cubs signed Maholm to a 1 year $4.75M. The original roation was set to be Matt Garza, Ryan Dempster, Chris Volstad, Travis Wood, and Randy Wells prior signing Paul Maholm. Adding Maholm will add depth to a Cubs rotation that needed help. This addition has improved the Cubs rotation.

Giants crush Falcons, Tebow, Broncos stun Steelers

The New York Giants cruised to a 24-2 victory over the Atlanta Falcons to rematch the Packers this up coming week. Led by Eli Manning's 277 yards and 3 TD, New York played like a real playoff team. While the Giants were celebrating, the Falcons were in disbelief. New York is going to have a tough challange next week against the Packers.

Tim Tebow and his heroics were the spark to a victory against the heavily favored Steelers. Denver looked like they were going to wein for good with a 20-6 lead heading midway through the third quarter. However Pittsburgh monted a comeback to tie the game at 23. In overtime it only took 11 seconds for Denver to score a TD in overtime, as WR Demariuys Thomas caught an 80 yard pass from Tim Tebow to win the game. Now can the Broncos beat there next test, the Patriots.

Texans blow out Bengals to first playoff win, Brees Saints go wild against Lions

The Houston Texans got that first playoff victory for the firs time in franchise history. While the Texans harassed Dalton all day on defense, there offense kept them going throughout the game. Led by Fostter's 153 yards rusinh and 2 touchdowns, the Texans overwelmed Cincinatti. This is a memorable first playoff win for Houston.

Drew Brees and the Saints breezed past the Detriot Lions 45-28. The Saints broke a record for most offensive yards gained in a playoff game with 626. Brees accounted for 466 of those 626 yards and 3 TD. Even though the Lions lost 45-28, Calvin Johnson was a big bright spot with 11 catches for 211 yards and 2 scores in the loss. Stafford's two interceptions in the 4th quarter to Jabari Greer cost them the game.

Cubs Trade Zambrano

After 2 straight meltdowns with the Chicago Cubs, starting pitcher Carlos Zambrano was traded to the Miami Marlins for starting pitcher Chris Volstad. Zambrano had 2 straight down years that has caused him to be dealt to Miami. Zambrano had some significant years with the Cubs such as a great 4 year strech with them from 2003-2006. Overall Zambrano has helped the Cubs pitching staff in ways and he'll be missed. With the addition of Zambrano, the Marlins have had a great offseason with the acqusitions of Jose Reyes, Heath Bell, Mark Buehrle, and now Carlos Zambrano. Watch out, this Miami Marlins team will explode this season. They have enough talentto reach to the playoffs this season.

Frasor heading back to Toronto

The Chicago White Sox have traded back relief pitcher Jason Frasor back to the Toronto Blue Jays. The White Sox had previously traded for Frasor a while back and have now shipped him back to the Jays. The White Sox acquired minor league right handers Myless Jay and Daniel Webb for Frasor. Frasor will join former White Sox Sergio Santos who was acquired from the White Sox last year. The acquisition for Frasor will boost the Jays bullpen once again.
