Giants Win

After an 9-0 rout against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Giants went crazy as they made the improbable come true by coming back from a 3-1 series deficit, to winning the NLCS against the Cardinals. With a roaring 5 run 3rd the Giants never looked back as they roughed up starter Kyle Lohse. The Giants hitting came back to life as they got great performances from the likes of NLCS MVP Marco Scutaro, outfielders Angal Pagan and Hunter Pence, catcher Buster Posey and Co. as they routed the cArdinals. The Giants are only the 7th team in MLB history to be last in team homeruns, but still advance to the World Series. Congragulations San Fransisco on moving on to the World Series.

Marlins Fire Guillen

After a horrid 69-93 first year with the Marlins, Ozzie Guillen was fired. They brought in a great group of players like starter Mark Buehrle, reliver Heath Bell, and shortstop Jose Reyes, but still couldn't get the job done. They were ranked 15th in runs scored , 13th in batting average, 14th in OPS, 12th in E.R.A., and last in Pitcher strikeouts for there NL Rankings. This Franchise was suppost to bounce back, but instead it took a step down. The Marlins need a manager and need some way to get back into contention, in the NL East.

San Fransisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and Tampa Bay Rays closer Fernando Rodney have won the 2012 comeback player of the year award. Posey who was held to only 45 games last season due to a brutal hit a the plate last season, came back by leading the N.L. in average with .336 and driving in a career best 103 RBI and 24 homers. Rodney, coming off a terrible season and an injury with the Angles, he came back by having a 0.60 E.R.A., a career high 76 appearances, and was second in the league with 48 saves. Congratulations Posey and Rodney for winning this award.

D-Backs Acquire Heath Bell

The Arizona Diamondbacks have acquired reliever Heath Bell. The D-Backs sent outfielder Chris Young, to the Oakland Athletics for shortstop Cliff Pennington and minor league infielder Yordy Cabrera. Then the Diamondbacks sent Cabrera to the Marlins to obtain Heath Bell. Despite the fact Bell had an off year, he will have great veteran leadership in the Diamondbacks bullpen and the Marlins and let loose some cap space off there hands as well.

Yankees Get Swept

The Detroit Tigers are back in the World Series for the first time since 2006. With a 8-1 victory over the New York Yankees, the Tigers completed the four game sweep of the Yankees, there first since 1980. With Max Scherzer stifling the Yankees lineup with ten strikeouts, the Yankees lineup went silent, only piling up 2 hits the entire game. Tigers DH Delmon Young was named MVP of the ALCS. The Yankees were very disappointing this postseason as they hit for the lowest average in postseason history, .188. Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, and all the other Yankees just couldn't get the job done. For the Tigers, Congratulations on being the AL pennant winners.

Red Sox Hire Farrell

The Boston Red Sox have hired Blue Jays manager John Farrell as there new manager. Signing Farrell to a 3 year deal hopefully puts the Red Sox back on track, after a miserable season this year. The Red Sox acquired Farrell by trading away short stop Mike Aviles to Toronto and in return, Boston will get pitcher David Carpenter. The hiring of Farrell will hopefully help out this Red Sox squad.

With a 6-0 lead heading into the 4th inning, the Washington Nationals looked like they were going to the NLCS, but disaster struck as the Cardinals offense steadily kept scoring runs to finally end the game at a 9-7 win. Nationals relief pitcher Drew Storen blew it in the 9th, allowing 4 earned runs to take the loss. For the Cardinals, they will return to the NLCS and will play the San Fransisco Giants.

Cushing Out For Season

The Houston Texans have a devastating loss on the defensive side of the ball with linebacker Brian Cushing out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL. During the 2nd quarter on Monday Night Football against the New York Jets, Cushing got blocked by Jets guard Matt Slausen, which appeared to cause a tear in his ACL. Cushing walked off the field, but never returned back to the game. This is a huge loss for Houston's defense who already lost linebacker DeMeco Ryans (via trade) to the Eagles, and will need some big time help from the rest of the defense to continue there run of being undefeated.

Francona signs with Cleveland

Former Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona has decided to take another chance as a manager, this time with the Cleveland Indians. Francona had agreed to a 4 year deal with the Indians and might be able to get the Indians back to the playoffs in a couple of years. A two-time world series champ with the Boston Red Sox, Francona has lots of expirence under his belt and could turn around a Indians squad, who just lost 94 games this season.

Benson out Against Houston

Green Bay Packers reunning back Cedric Benson is ruled out against the Houston Texans, due to a foot injury. He will be replaced by rookie Alex Green when they play Houston on Sunday. Mike McCarthy had announced this on Monday saying that Benson needed the rest so he could play next week.

Drew Brees help the Saints offense get started by throwing a touchdown pass to Devery Henderson and breaking Johnny Unitas' 50 year old record with a touchdown pass in 48 consecutive games. They overcame a 24-14 deficit by throwing 2 more touchdown passes to Marques Coltson, who broke the Saints all-time record of receiving touchdowns with his 51st in the third quarter. With Marques Colston catching 9 passes for 131 yards and 3 scores and Drew Brees lighting up the Chargers defense with 370 yards and 4 touchdowns, the Saints came back and held the Chargers at the end 31-24.

Brady, Pats beat Manning, Broncos

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have defeated Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos 31-21. Led by the Patriots 251 rushing yards (Stevan Ridley had 151 of them), the Patriots beat the Broncos even without Aaron Hernandez. Tom Brady 9-4 against Peyton Manning all-time and this victory has put the Patriots 3-2, and the Broncos 2-3.

Drew Brees has just set an NFL record with a touchdown in 48 consecutive games. Brees broke Johnny Unitas's record which was set about 50 years ago with the Colts. With the Saints down 7-0, Drew Brees found Devery Henderson wide open for a 40 yard touchdown pass to break the record against the Chargers. The only player player who's came close to this is Tom Brady with 37 consecutive games, which he just extended today. This night will be what defines Drew Brees's career.

A's Win the West?

Out of all the teams to win the A.L. West this MLB season, its the Oakland Athleticts. They've completed an improbable run which started with losing pitchers Trevor Cahill, Gio Gonzalez, Andrew Bailey, and hitter Josh Willingham. This team reminds me of the 2002 Oakland A's who lost Jason Isringhausen, Jason Giambi, and Johnny Damon. Both of these A's teams had came out of nowhere to win the A.L. West. With a 12-5 win over the Texas Rangers, the A's are crown champions of the A.L. West, and are 2nd seed, behind the New York Yankees. Led by a group of yougstars, rookie Yoenis Cespedes, outfielder Josh Reddick, relief pitcher Grant Balfour, and others who helped the A's complete the 162 game season a top the A.L. West. The 2012 A's have to be the surprise team of this MLB season.

Miggy Wins Triple Crown

Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera is the first triple crown winner since Carl Yastrzemski achieved it in 1967. Cabrera who finished the season with a .330 AVG, 44 HR, and 139 RBI had a terrific year and helped the Tigers claim first place in the AL Central. Cabrera was just the 12th player to achieve this in MLB history and without a queastion, should hands down be the A.L. MVP.
