RG3, Wilson Prepare To Square Off In Seattle

With the wild card playoffs coming in 5 days, there are some great wild card matchups, but there is one in particular that everyone will be watching the Seahawks host the Redskins. This is the third time in 8 years that the Seahawks will host the Redskins at Quest Fied. In 2006 (2005-2006 season), the Seahwaks beat the Redskins in the Divisional Round 20-10, on there way to the Super Bowl 40, and in 2008 (2007-2008 season) the Seahawks defeated the Redskins 35-14 in the wild card round. Now this will be round 3 between the Washington Redskins and the Seattle Seahawks, this time it's between two rookie QB. RG3 will have to face a Seahawks defense that's ranked first in scoring defense and have forced 38 turnovers. The Redskins though have been very been very good keeping the ball in there hands, turning over the ball only 14 times. RG3 health is going to be huge in this game and if the Seahawks can stuff the Strech, Fake HB, QB Sneak in Pistol Formations, then RG3 will struggle. Seahawks linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are very young, but will have to contain RG3 and Alfred Morris to keep Seattle in the game. The Redskins are ranked 5th in the NFL with 31 tackeaways and are led by MLB London Fletcher. With Carrikar and Orakpo done, Flectcher and Co. have done pretty good against the run, but poorly against the pass. If the Seahawks start the game running well, then they will torch this Redskins horrible pass defense. Russell Wilson will need to excell at play action if he wants to manhandle the Redskins defense. 

My prediction is Seahawks 27-Redskins 17.

MY BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR THE GAME

• Seahawks linebackers Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are going to contain RG3 in pistol formation
• DE Chris Clemons will manhandle Pro Bowl LT Trent Williams causing chaos on RG3 blind side. Other DE Bruce Irvin will contain the outside lanes of RG3, but won't be good defending the run
• CB Richard Sherman (8 interceptions) and Safties Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas will have a tough 1st quarter and almost half of second quarter, but will adjust mostly in 2nd half and will force 2 key second half RG3 turnovers
• QB Russell Wilson will take advantage of Redskins weak blitz schmes (they usually are good at blitzing but T Breno Giacomini and T Russell Okong will have a great day against Redskins 3-4 defense
• Wilson will throw for 277 yards and 1 TD Oint
• Alfred Morris will run over 110 yards
