Phillies Bring In Veteran Young

With the Phillies still looking for another outfielder in the off-season, outfielder Delmon Young had been waiting for a team to add him to their roster. The Phillies finally made up their mind and signed the veteran outfielder. The Philidelphia Phillies have signed free agent outfielder Delmon Young to a one year $750K contract. The deal could also go up to $3.25MM, pending on how Delmon Young preforms during this season. Last season with A.L. Pennant winners Detriot Tigers, Young compiled a batting of average of .267, but ranked 114th out of 143 batters (Players that reached the minemum plate apperances to qualify for OPS) in OPS, .707. Young does bring some power to this lineup, but really needs to improve on other batting skills, to show if he can still preform at a good level.
