Rangers Add Lance Berkman

After losing Josh Hamilton to the Los Angeles Angels this offseason, the Rangers were looking for some replacement power, to their lineup. They signed free agent outfielder/first basemen Lance Berkman to a 1 year $10M contract. By adding outfielder/first basemen Lance Berkman to there lineup, the Rangers will try to replace Josh Hamilton with his bat. Berkman has had some trouble staying healthy as he only played in 32 games last season. The year before though, Berkman bombed 33 homers, a .959 OPS, and a .301 AVG in his comeback year. Although Berkman isn't a Josh Hamilton, he still provides pop in the middle of the lineup. However, the Rangers also need to replace 3B/DH Michael Young and Catcher/First Basmene Mike Napoli too. Adding Berkman provides pop in the lineup, but won't fill all the holes that the Rangers need to fill in their lineup.
