The Cleveland Browns made a nice splash in free agency by signing outside linebacker Paul Kruger. The both sides agreed to a 5 year, $40M million contract. Kruger is a very versatile pass-rusher and defensive player, which the Browns have been looking for years, after parting ways with Kameron Wimbley years ago. Kruger posted 9.5 sacks in the regular season last season and 4 in the playoffs, as he was a huge reason why the Ravens D kept on making stops on big time passing situations. However, Kruger was overapid just a little, like every other top free agent out their, but the price was right as the Browns took away a defensive weapon from their division rival Ravens. The Browns have added that pass rusher for new defensive coordinator Ray Horton.
The Browns also made another big move by signing defensive tackle Desmond Bryant. So, far the Browns have done a great job adding pieces to their defense, especially to their run defense. Bryant was with an Oakland team that struggled on defense last season, due to injuries and ineffective playing by players. Desmond Bryant was probably the Raiders best defensive player last season as his ability to stop the run will be perfect for Ray Horton's 3-4 defenseive shceme. The Browns and Bryant agreed to a 5 year, $34 millon contract.
